Everybody has abdominal fat - it is meant to be there to help protect our inner organs and to keep us insulated. However, excess belly fat is known to increase heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes! Too much of anything is never good, right? So what are some of the ways to beat belly fat?
TIP #1 - Stop drinking sugary drinks
Let's get real here. How much sugar do you consume each day? You need to STOP eating so much of refined sugar. Refined sugar is packed with fructose in which our bodies will convert into deposited fat. Hence too much fructose consumption will cause your belly fat to accumulate even more! A lot of people have hardest time giving up sugary drinks. We are talking about sodas, diet sodas, sugar filled juices, etc.
So what to do? There are SO many healthy alternatives to try. How about fruit infused water? How about trying our delicious 14-Day Detox Tea or 28-Day Detox Tea? You could easily add honey or other fruits into our tea to make it even tastier. Our Detox Teas will help to Burn Fat and Kill Bloating in your stomach region too!
TIP #2 - No more processed foods
If you are serious about getting healthy and fit, you need to remove processed foods from your diet. I know how hard this can be as most of us are costumed to eating chips, cereals, pastas, white breads, white rice, etc. Just start slowly. Hunger gets the best of us so perhaps after a good meal, you could go into your kitchen and start throwing away processed junk foods. Cookies, crackers, snack bars all got to go into the trashcan. Replace them with fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, kale chips, boiled eggs and sea salt popcorn. These are only some of unprocessed healthy alternatives!
If you are a bread lover, look for whole wheat based with no additives added. Replace refined sweetener such as sugar, corn syrup or splenda with pure organic honey and maple syrup. There are always healthy alternatives out there so don't be scared to quit processed foods. Weight loss requires dedication and it starts with eating healthy.
TIP #3 - Eat foods that are rich in fiber
Increase your fiber consumption to help flush out your digestive tract! Not only is fiber known to help with constipation, it is also known to decrease cholesterol and blood pressure.
What are some of the fiber rich foods? Fruits, Vegetables, Legumes, Nuts and Seeds. These are great fiber foods you can consume on daily basis to help you feeling fuller.
Some of the popular fiber-packed foods are - oatmeal, canned pumpkin, raspberries, barley rice, kiwi, banana, refried beans, and sweet potato. If you are prone to be gassy on some of the fiber foods, slowly work them into your diet so your body can adjust. For instance, some people get bloated after eating beans so either eat smaller portions at a time or completely cut them out of your life. There are a lot of other fiber-packed foods you could easily replace with, this should be no problem.
TIP #4 - Eat smaller meals more often
This actually helps for a lot of our customers so maybe it will help you too. Instead of eating large 2-3 meals a day, try eating 5-6 small meals throughout the day. Studies have shown that splitting up meals help control your blood sugar and manage hunger. Another tip is to slow down when chewing on your food. Remember that well-chewed food will be much easier for your digestive system to break down which means less gas and bloating.
TIP #5 - Sweat it out, move that belly
How badly do you want to lose your belly fat? Then you need to sweat it out and get some cardio workout done at least few times a week. If gym is not an option for you, there are tons of youtube videos demonstrating cardio workouts. So no more excuses!
For those with muscle problems, try moving around in a pool or beach. You could start out with simply walking in the water. If you are a beginner to working out, how about starting out with jogging 10  minutes a day? Dedicate at least few days out of the week to working out as this will really help with your weight loss journey.  Sweat it out - release all the toxins from your body!
TIP #6 - Eat bloat-fighting foods
If you are feeling bloated all the time then you really need to pay closer attention to the foods you are consuming. For instance, some people cannot tolerate dairy products yet they do not know about it. So if this is the case, you need to cut all dairy products out of our life and replace them with plant-based products. If you are a milk lover, try drinking almond milk or coconut milk. Same goes with ice cream and butter - there are plenty of plant-based ice cream and butter you could find in grocery stores.
